Wildlife Holidays

I'm thrilled to be part of the guiding team for NaturesLens. Below you can see the trips I will be guiding along with links to the full details and how to book. They are small group trips where you will get your own room and there is no single supplement and meals included. I will be on hand to help as much or as little as you like, offer tips and tricks on photographing different subjects in different situations and how to make the most of light, habitat and when and how to add in additional light. If you have any questions please do get in touch.

Grey Seals and Pups Of Norfolk

Join me on a photography adventure to the picturesque coastline in Norfolk, home to an impressive population of Atlantic grey seals. I will guide you throughout, assisting you in capturing stunning images of the Grey Seals, these endearing animals, whilst respecting their fragile natural habitat. Sustainability is a key issue when it comes to photographing seals in this region, so NaturesLens have designed this photography trip to provide brilliant wildlife photography opportunities whilst behaving in a way which does not pose any threat to the native wildlife & environment. This trip is suited to both amateur & semi-professional photographers looking to add magnificent images of coastal wildlife to their portfolio.

We have two dates available:

15th - 20th November 2020 - SPACES AVAILABLE

15th - 20th Nov

Lammergeiers and Golden Eagles Of Spain

3rd - 7th December 2020 - SPACES AVAILABLE

Join me for this five-day trip which will take place in the Catalonia region in north-east Spain & will focus on that region’s most emblematic species, the Lammergeier & Golden Eagle.
You will have the opportunity to photograph Lammergeiers feeding on the ground & in flight, with the spectacular mountains of the Pre-Pyrenees as your backdrop. The Lammergeier is a rare & magnificent bird that is in decline throughout most of its ancient European habitats. The 90 Lammergeier territories in the French & Spanish Pyrenees represents more than 75% of the total European population of this extraordinary bird.

White-Tailed Sea Eagles of Norway

25th - 30th January 2021 - SPACES AVAILABLE

Smøla has the highest breeding density in the world for this species; you will spend 5 nights capturing images of the population of this species as they thrive in their picturesque natural habitat, both on land & above the frozen waters that surround the island. Highlights of the trip include alternating days between boat trips on to the frozen waters to photograph the White-tailed Sea Eagles in the best light available as the swoop & dive above the seas, & two days capturing images from a hide offering you the chance to get up close to these magnificent birds & witness their feeding behaviours. The boat trips are conducted on a specially designed boat with sides that can be lowered, this allows for photography just a few centimetres above the water-line; whilst the hide, shown in the photo above, has been sunken into the ground next to an eagle drinking pool with medical-grade clarity glass, heating & a toilet.

In addition to White-tailed Sea Eagles, this period is perfect for wintering sea birds like auks, eiders, velvet scoter, long-tailed duck & cormorants. Cosy accommodation nearby provides an oasis from the harsh winter conditions.
